Recognised for it’s innovation, strong architectural design and approach to environmental issues, the scheme is part of a major regeneration, which will dramatically enhance the River Itchen waterfront.
Southampton which is known as Chapel & Meridian Riverside, is located on the River Itchen close to Ocean Village, and has an approximate GDV of £140m.
The agreement with Southampton City Council will bring forward a mixed use scheme with marine based employment space, a minimum of 807 residential properties and public access to the
waterfront via a new river walkway.
The Riverside is a prime riverside site which presents some big technical challenges. The development of the Chapel Riverside site is another progressive step in the transformation and regeneration of Southampton.
The site will also have up to 65,000m2 of marine business space which could lead to the creation of up to 700 jobs, while flood defences at the site will be reinforced.
