Battersea Power Station
Former Industrial Brownfield Site
MKP, in partnership with Battersea Power Station Development Company and housing association Peabody, is delivering a £9 billion transformation of a 42-acre (8 million+ sq ft) site in Wandsworth’s RS-6 development zone.
The scheme will restore the Grade II* listed Power Station and create a mixed-use, 24/7 riverside community with over 250 shops, cafés and restaurants, a theatre, hotel, medical centre and new private and affordable homes.
Served by a Zone 1 Northern Line extension, the masterplan includes 3 million sq ft of office space, 19 acres of public realm, a six-acre park, and 450m of Thames frontage.
Following completion, 25,000 people will be living and working at the development, creating one of London’s most vibrant new neighbourhoods and a major new business district.
MKP have a proven track record in both providing detailed design for clients from first principles and being brought in to provide more cost-effective designs that not only meet or better the budgets but can offer added value through reduction in plant and services space. MKP delivers fully integrated, flexible, safe, reliable and sustainable design solutions that satisfy the highest performance criteria while providing maximum value for money.
